Just Finished...

This morning I finished Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. I absolutely loved it. It was one of those reads where you can't read it fast enough because you want to know what is going to happen, but you want to go slowly because you don't ever want it to end.
I bought it a while back on clearance and have been hesitating to read it for some reason. I am so glad I did. Even though I am not a big top supporter I have a sense of wonderment about the circus. It seems like something magical, until you get below the surface. The book delves into that grit below the surface of the circus in the 30's, but also into unconditional love, madness, friendship and adventure. I just can't say enough good things. I think I am going to have to find out what else Sara Gruen has written so I can read those books as well.

What are you reading?
P.S. I have a little crush on this picture. I wish I had a wall that was just like that. :)
I found the pic on weheartit.

Happy Saturday! I am going to watch a movie and sew some crafts.

  1. Interesting- have you ever watched any episodes of Carnivale? I think this is one thing we are on the same page about. For the last few years I've been crazy inspired by 1920's trapeze artists. I guess I'm thinking more sideshow than circus but you know what I mean.

P.S. I've been working on an awesome mini-parcel to send you. I think I might send it be fore my next letter to you since I take so long to write you letters (I just have to tell you everything it seems!)

P.P.S. Maybe this week I can start on your blog makeover?! I would love to do that for you.
