Movies I Could Watch Over and Over
There isn't one single thing that I don't love about this movie.
I discovered my beloved Kevin in this movie.
Who doesn't love the Goonies? When we lived in Oregon I was so excited to go to Astoria where this was set.
I just love everything about this movie.
Infinitely quotable, "Chopper, Sic balls!"
Pure cinema magic. The Dude, Walter, Jesus...
I just think the love story of this movie is so beautiful. Everyone's idea of love isn't always the best kind of love.
Such a bad B movie, but it has my undying devotion. There are times when
I will finish it and start it all over again.
Kevin Spacey, Laura Linney and Kate Winslet all in one movie that is against the
Tim Curry kills me in this one, so much scarier than almost any other killer.
I just love Rob Zombie's style
Classic
Enid is my hero. I like the comic but I LOVE the movie.
I just wanted to be Maddy in this movie. I know that probably seems crazy,
but something about her character resonated with me.
As I have mentioned before, I can quote this entire movie. I have seen it 8,727 times.
I saw this movie when I was like 12 with my cousin and it scared the bejesus out of me.
I love him and I am utterly in love with this movie.
I know this one was long and rather pointless, but once I got started I just couldn't stop. It isn't a complete list, but it gives a pretty good idea of what I love.
Happy Friday!

New Journal Pages
I have actually been keeping up with my journaling class everyday :) It is such a treat to open the blog up in the morning and see the prompt. Then I think about what I want to write all day long. It is weird, but I can't usually come up with the visual art part until later when I am working with all of my supplies.
I am really content with how everything is turning out. I am going outside of my comfort zone and it is making everything so much more full.
Anyway, here are the pictures from the last three days.

Wednesday Wishes
Hello Wednesday! Where did you come from? It feels like I was just doing last week's post :)
Source
1. I know I posted this exact same picture last week, but I have a problem. I actually did dye my hair blue, using Manic Panic. However, my hair is not blue it is still brown with a few faint blue streaks. So sad. So, my wish is to have actual blue hair the next time I dye my hair blue.

2. I wish David Bowie would take me to the Goblin City. David, no one can rock Tina Turner hair and high heeled boots the way you can :)
3. I wish one of my cars had reliable, working air. It is getting pretty freaking hot and my kid looks like a lobster when we have to go somewhere in the middle of the day. P.S. Yes, that is my actual car with an actual Christmas tree and lumber sticking out of the sun roof. That is how we do it in the Ventura family.

4. This is a long wish...I wish (a) I had never shown John Nemo. He doesn't watch TV EVER except when he is doing his nightly breathing treatment. I was so tired of Thomas that I put Nemo in my dads TV. He was absolutely terrified of this damn fish. Which leads to part (b) that John was not so horrified of the dark. He is currently sleeping with a light, nightlight and the blinds open because it is to dark otherwise. This leads to part (c) that whoever thought putting the above image in a children's movie was a good idea would be tarred/feathered/quartered and burned.

Pics from my day....
I can mark playing in the sprinklers off of my to do list. P.S. I know that John looks like the most corporatized child on earth in these pictures. I promise that I don't regularly dress him in a hard rock shirt, it is just his outside shirt. As for the hat and the Woody doll, my sister got them and John loves them so what is a mother to do :)

To Do Tuesday
Lots to do this week :) Of course, as usual I will not post all of it...how boring would that be? So here are a few of the activities that will be completed by me this week.
2. I need to buy a new quilling tool. I can't find mine, surprise surprise. I owe Courtney a handmade paper bead necklace, so it's off to Michaels I go.
I also have to work on my journal, play in the garden, plan mothers day gifts, go garage saling, make an owl for Kellie, and write three pen pal letters (Courtney, Krystal and Sarah). Its a good thing I am feeling happy and motivated this week. There is a lot going on!
Happy Tuesday!
1. I need to find a new super powered nightlight. My poor boy has suddenly, as in overnight, developed a fear of the dark. He had to go to sleep with an actual light on in his room tonight and it took him an hour and a half. I am so sad for him, I just want to make it all better.

3. I need to finish Middlesex. I have been spying this book for about 6 months, I ever started it once. For some reason I put it down, but not this time. I am entranced.
4. I am going to watch The English Patient. I saw it years ago when it first came out and loved it so much. I reserved it from my library and it came in yesterday, so I will be watching it tomorrow night.4. Cooking! So far this week I made tofu scramble, veggie sushi, sauteed mushrooms and an edamame/asparagus/couscous salad. I am also going to be making falafel, squash/sweet potato/couscous salad, a spinach/apple vinagrette salad and basil pesto pasta. I love cooking and feeding my family delicious food :)
5. Playing in the sprinklers! Does it get any more fun than that?

Tingalayo
Today was a great day for forts!
It is starting to get warm outside, around 90 today, so we are trying to find some fun indoor activities. John is one of those kids that would probably be willing to die of heat stroke if it meant he could play outside, so I have to come up with something interesting to keep him indoors. Today's interesting activity was forts.
We also listened to way too much Raffi. John is very into Tingalayo, which is about a little donkey with a very unusual name :) I was never into Raffi as a kid. In fact, I don't really remember listened to many kid tunes. Josh, on the other hand, knows all the kid stuff. So, John loves Raffi and I have to deal with it. That's ok though because listening to a 2 year old say Tingalayo is worth any price :)
Now, if you are interested in bad ass kids music...Dan Zanes is where it's at!
Also, I started the Tell Your Story art journaling class from the girls at Red Velvet Art! I am so excited that today was the first journal prompt. I finished mine tonight and I love the results. It is supposed to be about A New Season.
Here are the other two pages I have created so far.
I am pretty excited about the results.
I hope everyone had a lovely Monday!
