What A Day

source
Sooooo, today was my very first entire day away from my son. He went to his grandmothers to spend the day, and the night, with his cousin. I know that he is having the greatest time, but it is sooo hard to be away from him. Luckily, I had a brilliant day and night with my husband to keep my mind from being to occupied with thoughts of my little man. Unfortunately, I didn't take very many pictures and I haven't even put them on the computer yet. If I have any good ones I will have to add them to this post later.

Here is what our day consisted of...
1. We woke up and got John ready to go. I am a serious overpacker, so he had a TON of stuff to bring to Nonnie's. Mind you, she only lives about 3 miles from our house haha.

2. Dropped John off. He got to ride in a convertible for the first time so he thought he was hot stuff. Which, of course, he is :)

3. We had to drive down to my moms and check on her house. She is in St. Croix right now for business.

4. Drove to my very favorite restaurant, Green. It is the most delicious vegan place with an awesome atmosphere. I just love it. We ended up meeting some friends and sat and talked for over an hour. This is unheard of when we have John, so it was a special treat.

5. Drove to my sister's high school to watch her color guard competition. It was unbelievable, it seriously brought tears to my eyes and I am not really a crier. We stayed for a little while after she performed and watched a few other teams. It was pretty cool.

6. Came home and went on a 5 mile bike ride. We rode down to this little car shop that sells hot rod cars. It was actually, surprisingly, fun to walk around this little store with my husband. The cars were cool and he was so into it.

7. I am embarrassed to say that we went BACK to Green and I got some appetizers to eat for dinner :/ It is soooo good though.

8. Went to the Drive-in and watch Bounty Hunter. It was a very so-so movie. I really wanted to see The Crazies, but my husband is NOT into horror at all, so we figured this would be a good one instead. It wasn't bad to watch, but I wouldn't do it again.

9. Came home and laid down on our bed and laughed and talked for a good solid hour. It was awesome not to have to keep our volume down because the baby wasn't in the next room. We did have to close his door though because it made up both sad to look at an empty room.

10. Now, I am doing some computer things. It is 12:30 and I am staying up late because I don't have to get up early in the morning. Holy Crap, I don't have to be up at 8 :)

It was a wonderful day. We just did whatever we wanted to do, and took however long we wanted to take. Having said all of that, I miss my son. I keep thinking I should go in and check on him, but he isn't there. I am so so excited to see him in the morning. I am going to have to give him 7,312 kisses before I put him down.

I hope you all had a fantastic Saturday as well :)

  4. Yay Katie! It sounds like you had an AMAZING time!
You have to tell us what you ate at Green- curious vegans are dying to know!
P.S. I still can't believe that you didn't get to see the horror movie! I always pick horror films, even if I know that they will just be terrible.
P.S. Look at all your followers now lady! Wow!

  5. Courtney - I had the most delish meal. Lunch was a mock chicken parmesan sandwich with Daiya "cheese" melted on top. I also had an oatmeal "cream" pie cookie. Oh my god, they are to. die. for. good.
My husband had a spicy chick'n sandwich and fresh fruit.
For dinner I had vegan egg rolls and Pablano hummus. Seriously, it was not healthy at all, but it was so freaking good.
