Things are crazy and chaotic around here, like usual I guess. Josh has been working like crazy between Starbucks, his A/V jobs, his travel business and handyman stuff. It is wonderful that he has so many things to keep him busy, and we surely need the money. However, and I am not really trying to complain, but I am burnt out. I could REALLY use a little time to myself...I know everyone could, but as a mom I need to refuel my gas tank a little. I think my mom is going to watch John one day this week, so I should get a chance to do just that.
In the meantime, I had a playdate yesterday with an awesome lady that I met last year through Facebook. She lives in my area and she is a non-religious, liberal, vegetarian stay-at-home mom. Hooray for meeting someone like minded who has kids John's age :)
Josh and I stayed up late last night and watched American History X. Josh isn't really a drama person, so I was surprised he wanted to watch it. I had forgotten how powerful and disturbing it is. It scared me because I feel like some of that racism and anger can really be felt around AZ right now and it is just so very sad. We had to watch a little 40 Year Old Virgin when we were finished so that we wouldn't got to bed sad.
If I watch a movie tonight, I think it is going to be this one...
I have never seen it, but I have heard wonderful things, so I am going to give it a shot.
Here is my latest crafty creation. A friend of our is having a baby soon and her shower is tomorrow. I bought the baby two little outfits, but I wanted to make something too. His dad is a pilot and the babyshower has an airplane theme so this is what I came up with. Hopefully they will like it.
Well everyone, I guess that is it for today. I have to say, I feel like I am in a bit of a blogging rut right now. Does anyone have anything they want to hear about? I don't think I am going to do a formspring because I think the lack of questions would be depressing. If there are any subjects you want to know, just let me know. I am open to talking about anything :)
Have a Happy Saturday!
Your airplane is sooo cute! That's a perfect gift! You did a great job!
ReplyDeleteHope you get a mommy break soon! You definitely deserve one!
I can't believe that you've never seen Harold and Maude! It's such a great movie. I am a huge fan of people who love death (though this is death and a loving/appreciative kinda way if that makes sense) and Ruth Gordon- I mean c'mon! She is awesome (Hello Rosemary's Baby!)
ReplyDeleteI think I was in 7th or 8th grade when I first saw it- I remember because I watched it a my friend Tim's house and that was the same day I dyed his hair blue and gave him a mohawk. I'm such a dork.
Anyways- I promise the song from that movie will be stuck in your head for days! I think it was in a commercial recently too.
So-I think that maybe you should try to think of something that you love and post about it on a certain day- like on Wednesdays. I think that when you keep a schedule it helps. Also, post about things you love or maybe start a challenge- Oh my god! I have a great idea! Let's together (maybe with Rikki?) cook our way through the Veganomicon! We can post photos, reviews, reactions etc...that way we can both keep each other motivated?
Email me about it. Right now.
Oh.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Don't you like that when I comment it turns into a big story about me- I swear I am not that narcissistic! I am just trying to relate!
I love the airplane!! Soooo cute!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE HAROLD AND MAUDE!! I saw it when I was young and I just loved it!! I think that is where my love for Cat Stevens first was born! I cannot wait to hear what you think about it!!

Courtney - I know your not a narcissist! I always worry the same thing when I post stories as comments :)
ReplyDeleteEveryone! I can't wait to watch Harold and Maude now :) I found it at the library today and I was so excited. I know so many people that love it, and I saw some movie recently where they were talking about it (It wasn't There is Something About Mary) and it made me think to add it so my list.
Thanks for the compliments on the plane :)
