Three Days is a Long Time

On Saturday we went to a birthday party at Danielle's house. Her littlest one, Aidan, was turning one and they invited us to celebrate with them. We had such a great time, and it was hilarious watching all of the kids interact. Her kids are fantastic and I am so excited that I met Danielle through that wonderful, high class creation known as Myspace :)

Anyway, here is my big guy playing with all of the kids and showing them how to use the toy. Otherwise known as stealing playthings from small children

So Josh watched J-man on Saturday while I went to IKEA. He took one of the cameras so he could take pictures of the father and son outing. I just looked at them for the first time before I started this post, and this is what I found.

Yep, that is my son falling out of something. I have to admit that I laughed hysterically when I saw it. I mean, what kind of parent snaps a picture of their kid doing this...my husband I guess. Luckily, there were no injuries, just a funny picture to show John at some later date.

They went to the Riparian Park on Guadalupe and Greenfield. It is such an awesome place and John really loves it there.

Meanwhile, I went to IKEA and had a great time window shopping with my mom and Aunt. I hadn't been there in years and I had forgotten how long one can spend in that store.
Loved this fabric and the beautiful vase in front of it. I wish I had a house so I could display something like this setup.

I don't think there is any way this fabric could be more beautiful. I don't even know what I would do with it, but I am sure I could find something. :)

No matter how many times I see him crawl into his rocker to relax, it always makes me smile.

This afternoon we FINALLY got some backyard time. Everything had been so muddy from all of the wonderful rain, so we could only look longingly at our backyard. We made the best of it for about three hours. John played with Wickett and was so happy. Our dogs are both big, but they are so incredibly gentle with him. I am in awe most of the time.

He "bumpa-ed" on the trampoline. He knows the words jump, but apparently it doesn't adequately describe what one does on a tramp.

And I hired two babysitters to watch him so I could have some time off.
Seriously though, he thinks my dad's dog's cage is the cat's meow. He crawled right in there and then brought his trucks in there to play too. Kids are odd.
Well, hopefully I am all caught up now and I won't have posts that are so long.

  1. haha I burst out laughing when I saw the picture Josh snapped of John falling! CLASSIC! You should seriously frame it mommy :)

Aidan just discovered dog kennels this weekend. He apparently thought they were awesome storage devices and started hiding all of Brett's aunt's things in them!

We all had such a great time with you guys and can't wait until you're well enough to hang out again!
