John had a whole load of old crayons that needed a new life. I made these awesome cars with the melted pieces. I used a candy mold that I bought at Michaels just for this purpose. I think they turned out so so cute and I can't wait to give some of them away.

Here is one of them up close. My camera isn't the greatest...well, it might actually be that my photography skills aren't the greatest :)
This looks awesome! Very good idea. Did you mix colors at all to make new colors, or would that work? I would like to make these. Tell me your secret!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I put a bunch of different versions of the same color together. I peeled all of the paper off and then broke about four crayons up and put them into a small glass, microwavable bowl. I microwaved them for about 2.5 minutes and then used a syringe to squirt the melted crayons into candy molds. Pretty easy. I did a few of them where I mixed colors and it worked that way too.
