I have been feeling like I offer too many applogies lately, but it is time to issue another one. I tried the recipe for this week. It was Lost Coconut Custart Pie. It sounds delicious right? I wouldn't know because I didn't get to eat mine. Insert frown here.Tuesday, July 6, 2010
Taking on the V-Con Week 4

Versatile Blogger Award
1. I tried to dread my hair about a month and a half after John was born. I was so excited but it turned out soooo bad, all loose and the wax went on wrong. Plus it took FOREVER and with a 6 week old at home and major sleep deprivation it was a disaster. I literally took kitchen sheers to my head in frustration. However, as soon as I have the funds to get them done professionally, I am getting those bad boys put back in.
2. I am deathly afraid of cockroaches. Like, run out of a room screaming afraid.
3. I hate talking on the phone more than just about anything. I will text all day long, but I don't like to chat over the phone. Joshua, on the other hand is a gabber, so I am always trying to find nice ways to end phone conversations with him quickly.
4. I only have half a uterus. It is a birth defect and a rare one at that. Every time I went to the hospital while I was pregnant the nurses would ask me if I meant I had a bicornate uterus, which I don't, and how I ended up with only half. It got super irritating and I always felt like they were looking at me as if I had no idea what I was talking about.
5. I am almost exactly the opposite of who I was in high school. I like who I am now so much better.
6. I could eat avocados every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of them.
7. I hate to wear socks.
Ok, I had sort of a difficult time thinking of 7 interesting things. I hope other people's are more interesting :)
I nominate anyone who wants to share 7 things about themselves! If you haven't come up with your list of 7 do it now! :)
Happy Tuesday :)
Recap
Last week though, it was like a light bulb went off. I realized that I wasn't doing the things that I felt we wanted and needed to be done. I found this awesome blog, Childhood Magic, that broke me out of my stupor and reminded me of how I wanted to John to grow. So after talking with Josh, I spent Friday cleaning and purging all of the the unwanted/unnecessary toys from our collections. Anything, with the exception of one tractor, requiring batteries was weeded out. Along with 95% of our branded toys. It may sound extreme to some, but I KNOW that this is the right move for our little family. We have very little money anyway, so spending it on toys and junk is really unnecessary. This week I am going to post a freecycle ad and get rid of the extra stuff. There are going to be quite a few other changes as well, and I am excited to document them here. I should also mention that John Deere tractors don't fall into our branded list. He loves them so much and there are hundreds around the house because his pappy collects them. So when you see pictures of them later, don't think I am a hypocrite :)

The Crazies
I just finished watching this one. I heard it was good, but was prepared to be disappointed. I was happily surprised when I thoroughly enjoyed it and was even the tiniest bit scared. Not only was it a horror moview, but it included one of my favorite scary elements, fear of the government. I am by no means a crazy conspiracy theorist, but I always believe there is so much going on that is not actually meant to protect us.
